Ciao Caffeine

A few months back I tried to quit drinking caffeine, and I was successful for a while, but quickly jumped back on my coffee/soda train. Over the last couple weeks my anxiety has been a lot higher than normal, so I need to start figuring out why I am so stressed, and I also need to stop giving my body any type of caffeine.

So yesterday I said goodbye to caffeine, and this time I really think it is for good. As much as I love it, it is not worth having if it triggers my anxiety.I am really excited to see if this helps me. Here's to hoping!

Are you a caffeine machine?

You're such a trooper. I could never give up soda. It's not that I drink it all the time but it's so nice to have on a hot day...or cold day...well it's good no matter what day, lol.

Good luck!

Oh man! Been there! I've been off caffeine for a month! It's tough, but it gets easier day by day!

I have sooo been there. I've tried to quit caffeine before and it actually did pretty well for a while, but now all I do is drink caffeine. All.Day.Long. I've thought about quitting again, but I am not sure I'm ready to give it up just yet! :)

I am definitely a caffeine machine. I usually stop with the caffeine before dinner time. I haven't noticed any negative effects from caffeine (doesn't mean they aren't there) so I'm not looking to quit. I am, however, terrified by even the idea of cutting back whenever I get pregnant. That will be VERY hard for me. (Probably a good indicator I've got a problem! ha!)

Good luck! I;ve tried to give it up, but I always get a pounding headache. I've figured out that if I only have my coffee in the morning and no other caffiene throughout the day I'm much happier.

I'm trying to cut back...8 Diet Cokes a day is a little much. Good luck going cold turkey!

I quit drinking caffeine for a few months but I love it and I keep going back, even though I also have anxiety issues so the doctors tell me I should stay away from it. Instead, I now keep it to 1 or 2 cups of COFFEE, not lattes, espressos, etc. It has helped my anxiety AND my wallet! I really need to cut out the soda also, all those chemicals but it tastes so good!

You can do it!!! I used to drink caffiene a lot and was having severe headaches. I decided I would give it up and what do you know 5 months later, I am caffiene and headache free!! I cut back from what I was drinking to the mini cokes and then after a week or two of that, I went to one every other day and then quit. For me a lot of it was habitual (get to the office, grab a sbux or a diet coke and sip while I checked emails, etc.)

Now that I am not drinking it regularly, everyonce in a while I will treat myself to a coke or something of the like and it is pure heaven! Much more enjoyable than when I was over indulging in them!

Keep us posted on your outcome!

I usually limit myself to one Coke a day, if that, and usually just one or two coffees a week, and only for emergencies. This is a BIG cutback from where I was in college.

I went from drinking several pops in a day to maybe having one a day, but I started drinking tea instead. It's a difficult habit to break, so good luck to you!

Good luck with kicking the caffeine. I'm thinking of doing it myself soon. Keep us informed on how you're doing and feeling. Best of luck!
