When my husband and I first started dating, you could say I was not the best cook. Okay, I was a rotten cook! There as this one time I tried to make pasta-roni for us, but it came out like pasta-roni soup. Another time, our twice baked potatoes turned into potato mush. As awful as they were my husband still ate them and complimented me trying my hardest.
That was 5 years ago, and now I am worlds away from pasta soup making girl. Am I anywhere near being the next Paula Deen? Heck no! But I am able to cook well enough to where my husband looks forward to our meals.
Take yesterday morning for example, my husband saw me taking me out a tri-tip from the freezer, and asked ‘we are having tri-tip for dinner?’ to which I replied ‘of course with yummy sides’ (orzo with basil and Parmesan, steamed broccoli, and garlic bread). He got very excited.
Throughout the day he kept sending me e-mails telling how excited he was about dinner, to which I made me feel so happy inside, and even more excited to go home and cook for him.
What is your favorite meal to make for your loved one? Is there a special meal they make for you that is extra special?

Hubby loves lasagna and my penne alla vodka!! He isn't really into sides, so I can't say that I can impress him with those :)
umm... what is tri-tip? and it sounds amazing - do you mind posting the recipe? yay!
My fiance loves mac and cheese, so I love surprising him with new mac and cheese recipes. He's not so much into cooking for me, but that's okay. He's so appreciative of whatever I make, even if he hates it, that it's worth it! And he does dishes. :D
so cute! the Mr. loves anything with meat....red meat..not my girlie chicken and ground turkey. so whenever I tell him that..he's pumped!
I think that it's so sweet that hubby was emailing you and telling you that he was excited for the dinner that you were cooking.
Geof loves when I make Tyler Florence's ultimate mac 'n cheese. He also really likes cheeseburger pie.
I tagged you!
I can only make tuna salad, garlic bread and lasagna!! haha xxooo
I make a black bean and chicken burrito that hubs craves. nothing fancy just good ole' comfort food. Oh the subject, but I am in love with your blog design! So cute!
Sadly, Big Man doesn't live that sweet lifestyle. Poor kid
Unfortunately I can't really cook I am a slightly above pasta-roni soup.
Hopefully I will learn soon.
